This important magazine, initiated by TJALIE ROBINSON (Vincent Mahieu=J.J.Th.Boon), was originally established to serve as a link between the Dutch population & the Indo-European (Eurasian) repatriated to Hlland after the surrender of the Japanese in the Pacific, and the Sukarno-Hatta declaration of independence 1945. The general dutch public was, alas, not very keen to receive such an influx of eurasians carrying a duch passport, racial discrimination grew fast; the suffering of this population-group under the japanese was generally unknown and the knowledge of life in a tropical country was minimal, thus causing a lot of trouble and problems. Primarily this periodical was focusing on the eurasians and their recollections of dutch colonial Indonesia. Supplies massive [personal] information on subject matter. A massive and almost complete collection, in parts as issued. (lacks only in our series vol. 2 nos. 5-12 and vol. 3, already renamed: Tong Tong.).
